Printlogik
Most UK SMEs are stuck between two unsatisfying options for print and brand work. Commodity online printers that treat them like a transaction, with the environmental cost that implies. Or full creative agencies that price them out before the conversation starts.
Neither is built for them. The online printers compete on price and turnaround, not craft. Artwork goes through unchecked, the brand gets diluted, and sustainability is an afterthought if it features at all. The agencies do the thinking, but they charge for a structure most SMEs don't need. So the choice becomes cheap and careless, or considered and unaffordable.
What gets lost in that gap is the work itself. A business spends time and money building a brand, then hands its print to whoever is fastest and cheapest, and watches the two pull apart. The logo sits slightly wrong. The colour shifts. The stock feels off. Small compromises, but they compound, and they undermine the exact impression the brand was built to make.
There wasn't a printing company that combined design craft, sustainability and strategic partnership around the SME. Small enough to care. Considered enough to compete on quality. Sustainability built in, not bolted on.
After a decade working around print and design, including six years running my own studio, I decided to build one.
The challenge
Printlogik launched in 2023 as a deliberate evolution of my previous studio, Black Label UK. A realignment into a limited company, with a sharper proposition: the strategic print partner UK SMEs actually need.
I conceived, designed and built every part of it. The wordmark borrows from modern fintech and SaaS brands, simple and premium. The logo mark nods to the print marks that appear during production, grounding the identity in the craft. Restrained typography, a palette built for quiet luxury, and a tone of voice written to guide SME owners through decisions they often find intimidating.
Behind it sits the proposition: integrated brand identity and print, with sustainability woven through every order via Print-a-Tree. Printlogik isn't another online printer. It's built around design quality, brand thinking and sustainability, for SMEs that take their work seriously but can't justify a full agency.
Since launching, I've delivered for clients including Fast Print UK, Brad Burton (the UK's No.1 motivational business speaker), Physique Evolution, Nixon Coffee and JB Barbers. Each engagement runs end to end. I'm the founder, the designer, the print specialist and the relationship. That's the point.
The solution
- A complete brand and visual system, conceived, designed and built in-house: wordmark, logo mark, palette, typography and voice.
- An integrated offering combining print, identity, design and ongoing brand partnership.
- Sustainability woven through every order via Print-a-Tree: 13,900+ verified trees planted since launch.
- A growing roster of SME clients across multiple sectors, including Fast Print UK, Brad Burton, Physique Evolution, Nixon Coffee and JB Barbers
Printlogik is a deliberately built business. Founder-operated, intentionally small, slow on purpose. Running Black Label taught me that growth without resilience is fragile, and Printlogik is my answer to that. The point isn't to be the biggest printing company in the UK. It's to be the one SMEs trust to take their brand seriously, ship beautiful print, and do both without compromising the planet.
