Briefmate (project alias) is a digital briefing and debriefing system designed for linehaul operations within a leading global logistics network. Created and directed by Bradley Leivars, the platform transforms a once manual, paper-based process into a fast, reliable, and insight-driven workflow used daily by drivers, operations teams, and management.

Briefmate was developed to replace a daily operational process that once required several hours of manual paperwork and data entry. The goal was to create an integrated digital tool that simplified driver handovers, ensured compliance, and captured valuable performance data - all while remaining intuitive for teams working under time pressure.

Built using SharePoint, Power Automate, and Excel automations, the system records each briefing and debriefing in real time, creating a complete digital trail for every movement. This transformation reduces briefing times from hours to minutes, freeing operations staff to focus on logistics and performance rather than administration.

The interface was designed for clarity and accessibility. A clean, modular layout allows for rapid input and instant updates, while automated workflows manage data seamlessly without the need for manual intervention. Every record is stored and visualised within structured datasets, enabling quick identification of patterns, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

What began as a local solution evolved into a scalable framework for digital transformation across logistics operations. With thousands of entries processed each month, Briefmate delivers measurable outcomes: reduced delays, improved accountability, stronger compliance, and consistent data quality across shifts. Automated reports transform raw data into actionable insight, helping supervisors and management teams identify operational challenges and performance trends with clarity. Drivers benefit from faster, clearer communication, while leadership gains real-time visibility across the entire linehaul process.

More than an efficiency tool, Briefmate represents a cultural shift, from reactive reporting to proactive decision-making. Its success demonstrates how thoughtful digital design can optimise complex logistics systems at scale, offering a blueprint for modernising operational workflows across the industry.

To comply with strict global policies within the organisation where this system was developed, the company cannot be represented as endorsing any supplier or external entity. Although this project was created internally as part of my role, every effort has been made to protect the organisation’s identity and respect its confidentiality requirements. The name Briefmate is used as a project alias for this case study, and all references have been generalised to describe the environment and outcomes without implying endorsement or formal association.
